- Finally, I've found a Doctors office that I feel comfortable with after 14 months of searching. The entire office experience was prompt and professional throughout my appointment. Dr Brian Saluck was a pleasure to work with. He spent a lot of time discussing my health and concerns without feeling rushed or unsure of the plan moving forward. TomRead MoreRead Less

Dawn L.12/23/2025Dr. Rahaman is not only my new cardiologist but my favorite doctor I’ve ever seen in any capacity. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is also a skilled surgeon. I have white coat syndrome, and being in his presence gave me no anxiety. He performed my cardiac procedure and is helping keep me around in the world. The best thing about him is as a new patient, he took the time to get to know me and all of my medical history in depth. Spending time is my biggest pet peeve with the current status of the medical industry. That is very important to me. I didn’t feel rushed or that he wanted to run away to his next patient. No burn em’ and churn em present here! He also answered all of my questions of which there were many.
His office staff is very pleasant and thorough as well.
10 out of 10 would recommend the highest quality care that Dr. Rahman gives. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Read MoreRead Less
Scott R.12/23/2025I have been under Laura‘s care for the past few years for cardiology diagnostics and treatment. She is a fabulous doctor. Wonderful bedside manner, very thorough and knowledgeable. Whenever I go in with concerns about my health, she’s able to explain and reassure in a very professional manner. This last visit was like many others where we discussed my health concerns, she provided me with very logical options and already initiated, referrals and medication prescriptions. She is accessible and I would highly recommend Laura.Read MoreRead Less
Tracy C.12/20/2025Dr. Michelle Springstead is wonderful. As for Citrus Cardiology their office leaves a lot to be desired. You can never reach anyone by phone. It doesn’t matter what time or when you call nobody answers the phone . I would have to say, the worst run medical office I’ve ever been to. I must also say, on a positive note, I’ve never had to wait more than 15–20 minutes before I was called back for my appointment.Read MoreRead Less

Inverness, Florida is located in eastern Citrus County, on the western shore of the connected Tsala Apopka and Henderson lakes. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.7 square miles. Within the city are 330 acres of land reserved for passive and active park usage. As of the census2] of 2000, there were 6,789 people, 3,190 households, and 1,805 families residing in the city.
The city of Inverness was originally named “Tompkinsville”. Settlement of the area dates back to 1868.[8] A. D. Tompkins, later known as “Uncle Alf”, started the community. To attract newcomers to the town, he established a mail service and helped erect the first sawmill in the county. He gave his brother-in-law, Frank M. Dampier, Sr., a lot to build a store, with Dampier becoming the first merchant in town. Dampier is credited with laying out the town and naming it Tompkinsville.
Not many years later, the town of Tompkinsville was sold to a firm in Jacksonville, and the name was changed to “Inverness”.[9] According to the late historian Mary McRae of Homosassa, Inverness is named directly after a Scottish city of the same name. Inverness is Great Britain’s most northerly city, and “the capital of the Highlands”, with a population of 46,870. The story goes that Inverness, Florida got its name from a lonely Scotsman, far away from his home, who gazed upon the blue waters of the Native American-named Tsala Apopka Lake and thought the area looked like the headlands and lochs of the area surrounding Inverness in Scotland. Inver is a Gaelic word meaning “mouth of the river”, the River Ness flows through the Scottish city Inverness, so Inverness literally means the mouth of the River Ness, which flows from Loch Ness, which is one of Scotland’s most visited areas. Since the Florida city lies at the foot of one of the chain of lakes in Citrus County, Inverness seemed an appropriate name.
According to official city documentation, Inverness was incorporated on September 18, 1919.
Over twelve downtown buildings have been recognized by the historic plaque program and are presently active places for business. Central Business Development grants have helped to retain the historic character of the city. In 1961 the historic courthouse downtown was used to film the courtroom scene of “Follow That Dream”, featuring Elvis Presley.
The city has been designated a “Gateway Community” by the Florida Trail Association. Since 1995, Inverness has been recognized as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation and the US Forest Service. In 2009, Inverness was named “City of the Year” by the Forty and Eight, a national veterans’ organization.
Inverness, about 40 miles southwest of Ocala, is bordered by forests and lakes, and the area’s natural resources have been protected and managed to provide a wealth of outdoor opportunities for family enjoyment.
Pet-friendly Fort Cooper State Park boasts 710 acres for fishing, swimming, sunbathing, youth camping, canoeing, hiking, boat tours, and nature viewing, and is the scene of an annual re-enactment of the Second Seminole War in March.
Race fans will love the Citrus County Speedway and its figure-eight race course.
The historic Citrus County Courthouse, built in 1912 and recently renovated, now serves as a museum and headquarters for the Citrus County Historical Society.
The Valerie Theatre, built in 1926-27, was reopened in 2015 as a cultural hub for movies, concerts, plays, educational exhibits, and special events.
Also in Inverness are a golf and country club, affordable hotels and motels, riverside inns, full-service resorts, and charming bed and breakfasts and campgrounds that are ready to welcome you.
