Joshua Coon, MSN, FNP-C is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has dedicated more than 22 years to serving the Lake and Sumter County communities.

A lifelong resident of Sumter County, Joshua began his healthcare career at the age of 18 working in Environmental Services at UF Health Leesburg Hospital. Driven by a passion for patient care, he pursued his nursing education locally, earning his Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from Lake Technical College and his Associate of Science in Nursing from Lake-Sumter State College before continuing his education with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University.

Throughout his nursing career, Joshua gained extensive experience caring for critically ill patients in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Cardiovascular/Open Heart Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, and Medical Intensive Care Unit. He also served in nursing leadership before earning his Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license and becoming board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2020.

Today, Joshua provides comprehensive cardiovascular care alongside Dr. Rivero, serving patients in the Lake Sumter, Wildwood, and Leesburg offices. He is passionate about helping patients understand their heart health, prevent cardiovascular disease, and improve their quality of life through evidence-based, compassionate care.

Joshua considers it a privilege to care for the community where he was raised and remains committed to providing personalized, patient-centered care to every individual he serves.
